Hall Creek Hydrology and Hydraulics
Location: Lake Stevens, WA
Category: Hydrology and Hydraulics
Client: City of Lake Stevens
Project Description
Clear Creek Solutions conducted Hall Creek outlet and Reach modeling for determination of storm impacts. Peak flow values and flooding scenarios were simulated and analyzed.
Clear Creek Solutions utilized a comprehensive approach for modeling the Hall Creek basin. CCS made a few major assumptions to help construct the model and create accurate results. All of the landuse information provided from GIS and Google Earth data was assumed to be accurate.
The flow tables and landuse information were imported into the software “WWHM-SWMM”, which allows for simultaneous analysis of hydraulic, and hydrologic elements and modeling. Using continuous simulation, landuse runoff could be generated and analyzed as hydraulic flow rates through the use of flow tables, representing the hydraulic makeup of Hall Creek. The flow values were analyzed at specific points in the model through detailed simulation and analysis. Updated flow tables were provided by Osborn Consulting and alternative analysis was performed by CCS.
Tasks Accomplished
-
Flooding was identified in Hall Creek.
#1
-
A WWHM-SWMM model was constructed to represents the conditions of the creek and conduct alternative analysis.
#2
-
The hydraulic makeup of Hall Creek was represented and flow tables were created for various alternatives.
