Our Team
Joe Brascher Sr, President, CEO
Mr. Brascher has over 25 years of experience as a senior hydrologist in numerous aspects of hydrologic modeling, stormwater management, and software development. Before co-founding Clear Creek Solutions in 2005, Mr. Brascher worked for the City of Olympia, Thurston County, and AQUA TERRA Consultants in Tumwater, Washington.
Doug Beyerlein, P.E., P.H., D.WRE
Mr. Beyerlein has over 45 years of experience in numerous aspects of water resources planning, flood studies, and stormwater modeling. Before co-founding Clear Creek Solutions Mr. Beyerlein worked for Hydrocomp and Anderson-Nichols in the San Francisco Bay Area and later Snohomish County Surface Water Management and AQUA TERRA Consultants in Everett, Washington.
About
Welcome to Clear Creek Solutions
Clear Creek Solutions provides software and consulting services for stormwater management.
The three co-founders bring over 50 years of combined experience to designing, developing, and applying state-of-the-art computational tools for the analysis and design of water resources and stormwater solutions.
Clear Creek Solutions provides stormwater software development and support services to the state and local governmental agencies in Washington, Oregon, and California.
In addition, Clear Creek Solutions assists local jurisdictions and engineering consulting firms with their hydrologic modeling expertise.
Firm Profile
Clear Creek Solutions, Inc. (the successor to the Washington offices of AQUA TERRA Consultants) provides software and consulting services for solving stormwater problems. Doug Beyerlein and Joe Brascher, the co-founders of Clear Creek Solutions, have provided hydrologic and hydraulic modeling services to Western Washington jurisdictions since 1992. Over the past 28 years they have conducted hydrologic studies of most of the urban watersheds in the Puget Sound region.
Clear Creek Solutions designs, develops, and applies visually-oriented interactive computational tools for the analysis and optimal design of water resources and stormwater solutions. Clear Creek Solutions provides Western Washington Hydrology Model (WWHM) stormwater software development and support services to the Washington Department of Ecology and similar software in California and Oregon. In addition, Clear Creek Solutions assists local jurisdictions and engineering consulting firms with their hydrologic and hydraulic modeling expertise.
Doug Beyerlein and Joe Brascher are nationally recognized experts in the theory and application of hydrologic and stormwater modeling using the HSPF continuous simulation methodology incorporated in its stormwater management software, WWHM.
Doug Beyerlein did the original beta testing of HSPF at Hydrocomp in 1979 before its general release to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the sponsor of HSPF. Since that first application of HSPF Mr. Beyerlein has used HSPF throughout the United States and in other parts of the world to model local hydrologic conditions and problems. In addition, he teaches workshops on the theory and application of HSPF. His workshop clients have included the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Natural Resources Conservation Service, U.S. Geological Survey, Washington Department of Ecology, Edwards Aquifer Authority (San Antonio, TX), King County, WA; Snohomish County, WA; Thurston County, WA; Clark County, WA; City of Seattle, WA; City of Portland, OR; City of Kent, WA; and numerous private engineering firms.
Clear Creek Solutions has combined HSPF and SWMM in their new software package: WWHM-SWMM (available at ClearCreekSolutions.com). WWHM-SWMM provides the modeler with a seamless HSPF-SWMM linkage with the capability to:
More accurately construct HSPF and SWMM models (less chance of input errors)
Save time in model construction and execution
More thoroughly document model input components and assumptions
Easily train new staff in the use of the model.
WWHM-SWMM works with existing PCSWMM, XPSWMM, and EPA SWMM models.
WWHM-SWMM includes all of the HSPF routing features and is appropriate for any size watershed. WWHM-SWMM generates HSPF UCI files and SWMM binary Interface files; these files can be run either in WWHM-SWMM or separately outside of WWHM-SWMM, and can be set up to meet specific modeling protocols.
